Steward School’s
Summer Experience is a unique summer camp offering a multitude of activities,
including an interactive Fine Arts Camp, choices of enrichment and academic
classes, sports camps and a more traditional day camp.
Camp Steward is available in two-week sessions and is offered to rising
kindergarten through 5th grade students. Housed on Steward’s 37
acres, students begin their day at 9 am and finish at 4 pm. Extended day
care is available. Throughout the day, students participate in a variety
of sports (some which are offered off-campus) including miniature golf,
ice-skating, swimming, bowling, kickball and soccer. Other activities
include arts and crafts, rock climbing, computer, laser tag and going
to the movies. Campers must provide their own lunches.
Sports camps at Steward help children learn the rules and techniques,
refine their skills, and have a good time. Yearly offerings vary from
year to year, but have included basketball, golf, tennis, lacrosse, and
volleyball.
Academic and enrichment class offerings have included Rock, Scissors,
and Paper, a class designed to strengthen readiness skills for rising
kindergarten and first grade students, and Kindergarten Play Camp, designed
to help entering students feel more comfortable on Steward’s campus.
Summer tutoring is offered for students in all grades who need extra
help. Personalized instruction from qualified tutors can either be done
one-on-one or in small group sessions. Middle and Upper School students
are required to have summer remediation when receiving a D or below in
a sequential class. Lower School students are encouraged to have summer
tutoring if they exhibit a deficiency in an academic area.
Camp offerings and registration information for 2008 is currently available. Please call the School or register online.
