  • Finding the artist within every child

Arts education is essential to a complete education.
Whether setting the stage, striking a chord, creating a masterpiece, or simply exploring individual talents and interests, exposure to the arts develops important life skills necessary for students to succeed in academic areas and everyday life experiences. By providing our students with multiple creative outlets, we seek to nurture talents, build confidence, and help students discover passions.

Through the teaching of the professional elements in the classroom and on the stage, students gain a sense of pride in their achievements, leading to self-discovery and increased self-esteem. We challenge each student to set high goals, reach beyond perceived limits, and stretch their creative thinking ability. The arts are a necessary component in the overall development of a well-rounded student.

I like that I can be a part of the band and still play sports. I am learning to play the trombone, and Mr. McAlister makes it really fun. He plays the instruments with us, so we really feel like a band. Also, I am excited about being part of the pep band this year.
