Standout Spartan: Erin Langenburg '22

Junior swimmer wins first place in state championship meet.
Congratulations go out to junior swimmer Erin Langenburg, who clinched a first-place finish at this year's VISAA Swimming and Diving State Championship!

Erin took the top spot at the virtual championship and earned an All-State distinction by posting a time of 56.68 seconds in the 100-yard butterfly event. To compete in this year's championship meet, eligible swimmers submitted scores from swim meets held between November 1, 2020 and February 20, 2021. Scores could be submitted from swims in different meets, though all were verified by at least one certified swim official.

In addition to her state championship win in the 100-yard butterfly, Erin finished third in the 200-yard individual medley event, receiving her second All-State recognition of the year for her top-three finish. But Erin wasn't Steward's only swimmer to earn a top-three finish at the state meet. Teammate Allison Witdoeckt '24 also earned an All-State nod by taking third place in the 100-yard freestyle.

Overall, the varsity girls swim and dive team finished second in the division, following up on last year's state-championship winning season with another excellent showing in the polls. Great job, Spartans!
