Steward honored by Richmond Times-Dispatch as Top Workplace

For the past five years, the Richmond Times-Dispatch has ranked the Top Workplaces in the Richmond region. The Steward School has participated in the competition for the last three years, and has been recognized as a Top Workplace for all three of those years!

We were ranked in the mid-sized category, a high honor that places us among many respected organizations. This year, Steward was also granted a special award for its training programs, which recognizes our commitment to professional development for our faculty and staff.

“We are thrilled to be recognized as a Top Workplace,” Head of School Dan Frank said. “It is a great gift to come to work every day among smart and dedicated faculty and staff, all united in our common purpose to promote positive growth in the lives of our young people. This award exemplifies what can be accomplished with an incredible team and a strong mission.”

Top Workplaces are decided based upon employee responses to an anonymous survey that gathers responses on 24 factors covering seven areas, including organizational health factors that measure how well employees are working together toward a common cause:

• Alignment: where the company is headed, its values, cooperation;
• Effectiveness: doing things well, sharing different viewpoints, encouraging new ideas;
• Connection: employees feel appreciated, their work is meaningful; and
• My manager: cares about concerns, helps learn and grow.
