With an uncanny display of skill (not to mention timing), three of Steward’s varsity basketball players—all of whom are juniors—joined the 1,000 career point club within weeks of one another. Sherese Pittman ’21, Efton Reid ’21, and Mimi Traynham ’21 reached the coveted milestone with a season and a half of play left to add to those numbers. The trio of Spartans received nods in the press from Richmond Times-Dispatch and NBC-12.

Zach Rosenthal ’21 was named Most Valuable Player of the Times-Dispatch Invitational Tournament held from December 20-23, 2019. Rosenthal scored a jaw-dropping 12 points in 87 seconds during the championship match against Trinity, pulling Steward out of a 9-point hole in the third quarter and leading the Spartans to a 65-63 victory.
