Steward junior selected to open for nationally recognized musician in May.
Junior Zoë Macgill is no stranger to sharing her singing and songwriting talents in front of an audience. Before the pandemic, she was a regular musical act at Lou's Loft and Max’s Positive Vibe Café, where she performed at events to support causes like providing food to homeless people, raising money for juvenile diabetes research, and increasing employment opportunities for people with disabilities. You'll also recognize her as a frequent participant in Steward's talent nights and theatre shows, including "Chicago" and the upcoming "Putting it Together: A COVID-Friendly Revue."
We've now learned that on May 8, she's slated to sing in front of a drive-in crowd at Glasgow Farm Church in Fredericksburg, where she will be the opening act for Mike Donehey of Tenth Avenue North!
Zoë was selected by WPER FM, a radio station located in Petersburg and broadcasting throughout Virginia, to open for the popular contemporary Christian musical artist when she won the radio station's virtual Winter Talent Show in late 2020. Her original song was chosen by talent show judges Josh Havens, lead vocalist for The Afters, and James Davis from The Riverside Center. WPER graciously awarded Zoë a generous prize package in addition to the opportunity to perform at the concert this spring.
Please visit WPER's event page for more details on how to purchase tickets and safety guidelines for attending the concert. Congratulations, Zoë! We look forward to seeing you perform in your element on stage!
