Standout Spartans: Jackson Rhamy '24 and Beth Cram '24

The Steward School
An exciting summer lies ahead for these writers.
Congratulations to Beth Cram '24 and Jackson Rhamy '24, who have been accepted into the Summer@Brown program at Brown University. This two-week intensive program gives students a taste of what college life is like as they live on campus, take classes, and get to know other young scholars from around the United States.

Beth will be taking a writing class centered around media analysis, and she is waitlisted for a course on writing fiction. A member of the Creative Writing Club and Steward Ink (the school newspaper), Beth said, "I'm really looking forward to trying out a college experience: some more independence, forming new relationships, and pushing myself in higher-level classes — classes I'm taking because of my interests."

Jackson chose to take a flash fiction course "because of my interest in writing and my lack of conciseness in doing it," he said. "By taking a course that inherently challenges both of those things, I hope to become better at writing creatively and at school." Jackson is a member of the fall cross country team, spring track club, Creative Writing Club, and Steward Ink.

"My favorite thing about being a Spartan is the tight-knit community," said Jackson. For Beth, small class sizes, plus faculty who give students individual attention, "have helped me in a lot of ways … I think I'm a lot surer of myself now." Way to go, Spartans!
