A group of talented Spartan artists received kudos from The Scholastic Art and Writing Competition, the nation's longest-running educational initiative supporting student achievement in the visual and literary arts. Congratulations to the following students, who received Honorable Mentions for their artwork:
Gideon Grandis-McConnell ’24, Maddie Hayden '27, Emma Herzog ’24, Andy Orgain ’25, and Bella Topich ’23.Gideon also received a Silver Key award for a piece of her artwork. The Visual Arts Center of Richmond (1812 West Main St.) will host an exhibition of all art and writing works from February 3-20, and on February 18, the Visual Arts Center of Richmond will host a reception from 1-4 p.m. for all (Gold Key, Silver Key, and Honorable Mention) award winners.
