Volunteer at the Lab

Join us in developing and executing the Bryan Lab’s mission.

All members of the Steward community are invited to assist in the operation and development of the Bryan Innovation Lab by sharing their time and talents in a number of service opportunities in various educational areas.

Volunteer Opportunities

Guest Innovation Teacher

Conduct your own “innovation lesson” with Lower, Middle, or Upper School students in your area of interest and expertise in one or several of the Bryan Lab teaching studios. Assist with demonstrations and special programs. Major topic areas for lessons include: Energy and Resources, Health and Wellness, and the Built and Natural Environment. However, all unique and innovative/entrepreneurial lesson ideas will be gratefully considered!

Visitor and Special Event Volunteer

Assist in guiding guests through the features of the Bryan Innovation Lab and encourage them to interact with hands-on activities. Help answer questions to make a visit to the Bryan Lab a unique experience for guests. Volunteers will attend a special training session to become experts on all features of the Bryan Lab.

Maintenance Volunteer – Reynolds Studios

Help maintain the Bryan Innovation Lab and its facilities with your mechanical, technology, and scientific skills. Improve our procedures and programs by adding the benefit of your experience and skills.

Maintenance Volunteer – Outdoor Gardens and Nature Trail

Help maintain the outdoor environments of the Bryan Innovation Lab with your botanical and environmental skills. Improve our procedures and programs by adding the value of your knowledge and skills. Assist in maintaining annual and perennial gardens and everything “green” from planting to pruning.

Kitchen Volunteer

Assist with special events and help keep our kitchen clean and functioning smoothly by lending your home engineering and food service skills.

AfterSchool Care Program and Summer Camp Volunteer

Assist teachers and group leaders in afternoon or summer camp programs by presenting hands-on, creative/productive Bryan Lab activities.

If you are interested in one of these volunteer opportunities, please contact Director of the Bryan Lab Cary Jamieson at (804) 565-2326 or Cary.Jamieson@stewardschool.org.
