  • "Murder's in the Heir"

    By Billy St. John
Directed by Lower School Theatre and Upper School Acting Teacher Craig Smith

Tyrannical billionaire Simon Starkweather gathers his family and employees to announce the contents of his will. They learn that he planned to leave them all vast sums of money, but then he delivers the bombshell! He informs them that they will receive a very small amount so that he can pursue a rather questionable method of keeping his money. Each of the heirs to Starkweather gets upset and has the means and the motive to do away with him. The play’s unique ending, utilizing a vote from the audience, determines the killer in this comic mystery.

  • "Rough Magic"

    By Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa
Directed by Lower School Theatre and Upper School Acting Teacher Craig Smith

Transplanting characters from Shakespeare’s “The Tempest” to present-day New York, this action-adventure-fantasy in the tradition of “The X-Men” conjures a mythical, magical meta-universe in which the evil sorcerer Prospero is willing to do anything to recover his stolen book of magic — even if it means Manhattan’s destruction. Lucky for us, New York’s defenders include some unlikely heroes: a young theatre professional who holds some magical powers, Prospero’s own son, a revenge-seeking Fury from Ancient Greece, and a seventeen-year-old lifeguard from Coney Island. May the forces of evil beware…

  • "Shrek, The Musical"

Directed by Middle School Theatre and Upper School Public Speaking Teacher Susan Sanford

Based on the immensely popular animated film, “Shrek, The Musical” follows the story of a solitary ogre as he finds the value of friendship and love. Featuring traditional characters like Pinocchio, The Gingerbread Man, and the Three Little Pigs, Shrek delivers toe-tapping songs, fantastic scenery, and a heartfelt message of compassion and acceptance. Join Fiona and Donkey as they try to peel the layers of this ogre and find his loving heart.
