  The Grade 8 Recognition Assembly is a family event where we celebrate the accomplishments of our eighth-grade class. The assembly is scheduled for Friday, June 2 at 8:30 a.m.  To prepare for this event, frequently asked questions are answered below.
  
  

  Where will the assembly be held?
  

  •  The assembly will take place in the multi-purpose gym in the Athletic Center. Reserved seating for six guests plus a seat for your eighth grader will be determined by a lottery drawing in May. Families will be directed to their reserved seats upon arrival on June 2, and a map of the seating will be provided prior to the event. There will be additional overflow seating in the back of the gym. This event will not be livestreamed. 

  What is the schedule for the day?
  

  • Eighth-grade students should meet on Waddell Terrace by 8 a.m. on June 2 for a class photo. The assembly begins at 8:30 a.m. and will conclude by about 9:30 a.m. There will not be a formal reception after the assembly as the 5th Grade Recognition Assembly will take place at 10:30 a.m. that same day.

  What is the dress for the day?
  

  • The eighth-grade students should plan to wear school-appropriate dresses or dress pants with sandals, flats, or low heels, or coat and tie, dress slacks, and dress shoes. When making clothing and footwear choices, please be aware the students will be processing in and ascending and descending a few steps from the stage. Photos will be taken from the gym floor up to the stage.
    

  How will my child's name be printed on the certificate?
  

  • Typically, we print your child’s formal name, as listed in MySchoolApp, on the certificate, and will read the same name during the assembly. If there is a name preference other than your child’s formal name, please let us know no later than Monday, May 1 by emailing MS@stewardschool.org.
