Blue and gold through and through: That’s our
Parents Association. This hardworking group supports The Steward School by sharing their time and creativity (and seemingly boundless energy), and by organizing school events. And that’s just the beginning!
Community-minded: The PA, led by the executive team of
Alden Rice (president),
Betsy Kersey (vice president),
Debra Wert (treasurer), and
Suji Lee (secretary), offers families numerous ways to get involved at Steward. To kick off each school year, the PA hosts new parents for an informal gathering. And thanks to the PA, all Steward parents are invited to choose the volunteer opportunities that suit their interests and schedules.

You’ll see smiling PA faces at lots of school events. In 2023, two of Steward’s most-loved annual gatherings — the
Fall Social and
SpartaFest — welcomed record numbers of participants. Our festive
Gala and Auction is a much-anticipated event (and the PA’s biggest fundraiser) that you won’t want to miss. You can make the 2024 Gala and Auction better than ever by
donating auction items or by volunteering to set up for the event, which takes place on March 2.

Multi-faceted: The Parents Association fosters fellowship in the school community; assists admissions with welcoming new families; and sponsors the
Parent Speaker Series. The PA also sponsors Faculty and Staff Appreciation events throughout the year, and the group’s themed expressions of gratitude never fail to dazzle. Most recently, the PA distributed miniature Bundt cakes and a special message (“Nothing BUNDT thanks”) to faculty and staff before the fall break!
Your support for Faculty and Staff Appreciation Week (February 12-16, 2024) will help us show our gratitude to these very special Spartans.
Fun(d)raisers: Each year, the PA’s fundraising efforts go toward projects in each division, enriching students’ educational experiences. In spring 2023, the PA donated an astonishing $78,500 to the school, which included:
funds to the Lower School toward a two-year pledge to complete a turf project on the soccer field; a plan to complete the pledge toward the project is already underway
funds to the Middle School to renovate a student study area
funds to the Upper School to renovate the physics lab
funds to the Bryan Innovation Lab for a Rigamajig, a large-scale building kit for fun hands-on play and learning
In addition, the PA made the final pledge payment of $10,000 to the Steward50 Capital Campaign (2017-21) that supported the endowment, annual fund, and facility upgrades.
A heartfelt thank you to our Parents Association volunteers, who brighten the Steward community with their outstanding commitment and unwavering spirit!
