Meet the Head of School

A welcome letter from Dan Frank, Head of School

Welcome to the best small school in Richmond!

I am so proud of the experience we offer at Steward—it’s well-rounded, it’s intimate, it’s innovative, and most of all, it’s done with our students at the forefront of every decision. We get to know these kids—that’s the beauty of a small school, and it helps build their confidence to be in a place where they are challenged and supported each at the right time.

Having worked in the education arena for more than 25 years, including time in New England and abroad, I can tell you that Steward is unique. From our emphasis on educating the whole child and best fit for first-choice college applications to our devotion to community engagement, solid foundational skills,  fine arts and athletics, and research, design, and innovation, we carefully and intentionally guide our students through their JK-12 careers, preparing them for a lifetime of learning and success. There are no other small schools in central Virginia that can offer such a comprehensive program.

I invite you to come see us—attend a performance in the Lora M. Robins Theatre, cheer on the Spartans at an athletic game, check on the projects in the Bryan Innovation Lab, or visit a classroom to see what the best and brightest are learning today. We take children where they are and move them forward, and I know you’ll see that when you arrive on our campus.

I look forward to meeting you,

Dan Frank signature
