  • Today’s School for Tomorrow’s World

At The Steward School, STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) isn't just taught from a textbook — it is lived through hands-on discovery, real-world application, and cross-disciplinary problem solving. From Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12, we empower students to inquire deeply, design thoughtfully, and innovate courageously.

Through our state-of-the-art facilities, specialized faculty, and signature programs, Steward prepares students not only for top college STEM programs, but for life in a rapidly changing world.

Design Thinking & Experiential Learning

STEM at Steward is built on a design-thinking framework: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test. Students don't just consume knowledge — they create solutions. Whether engineering sustainable solutions or coding robotics to complete real-world tasks, learning at Steward is active, collaborative, and purpose-driven.

The Steward Advantage: Where Curiosity Meets Capability

The Bryan Innovation Lab

At the heart of Steward’s STEM experience is the Bryan Innovation Lab, a dedicated future-focused learning environment where academic theory meets real-world application. Featuring flexible design studios, high-tech tools, gardens, and outdoor learning spaces, the Lab serves as a catalyst for creative problem-solving across all grade levels. The Bryan Innovation Lab also hosts our Visiting Innovators program, which provides direct mentorship and workshops with leading scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs, and researchers from across the nation. Students JK-12, as well as the greater Steward and Richmond communities, join Visiting Innovator programming.
