Standout Spartan: London Wright '28

Congratulations to London Wright ’28, who competed in discus and shot put at the State Championship Track and Field Meet at Sports Backers Stadium on May 16. Each of the 25 competitors who qualified for the State Meet in discus and shot put had three throws in the first round (flight). The nine competitors with the farthest throw made the final flight. London, who did not make the final flight in shot put and finished in 16th place, was in 8th place for discus entering the final flight. The four competitors with the farthest throw earn a medal and are considered all-state. London saved her best for last, and her final throw traveled 94 feet and 7 inches to earn fourth place and a medal! Way to go, London!
