By Rodgers & Hammerstein Directed by Upper School Public Speaking & Middle School Theatre Teacher Courtney Vollmer
Rodgers & Hammerstein’s "Cinderella" (Enchanted Edition) is a warm, funny, and modern stage adaptation in which Cinderella, a kind-hearted young woman, is forced into servitude by her cruel stepmother and self-absorbed stepsisters. When King Maximillian and Queen Constantina host a royal ball for the prince's birthday, Cinderella's fairy godmother magically transforms her rags into a breathtaking gown and sends her off in a horse-drawn carriage. Cinderella and the prince share an instant connection when the clock strikes midnight, and Cinderella flees the palace, leaving behind a single glass slipper. A kingdom-wide search proves that even the most impossible dreams can come true. (Note: This production is suitable for Middle/Upper School ages and up.)
