The Steward School provides WiFi access to all members of our School Community and approved guest. All traffic is monitored and recorded. Usage requires agreement to our acceptable use policy and by doing so a security certificate be installed on your device to help keep our network safe. Please see below for information on how to install this certificate on your device.
Once you have installed the required certificate(s) below, you will be allowed access to our wireless networks. If you are a student or faculty member, the password for the MOBILE network has been provided to you at the beginning of the school year.
Installing the Certificate in Internet Explorer, Edge, Chrome, or Firefox on Windows
To manually install the Cisco Umbrella root certificate in your Internet Explorer browser, use the following procedure. Chrome and Firefox use Window's certificate store, so the same procedure will also configure both.
- Download the Cisco Umbrella root certificate: download.
Note: If the Open File – Security Warning dialog appears, click Open.
- Click Install Certificate.
- In the Certificate Import wizard, click Next.
- In the Certificate Store window, select Place all certificates in the following store and then click Browse.
- In the Select Certificate Store window, select Trusted Root Certification Authorities and click OK.
In the Certificate Store window, the Certificate store shows Trusted Root Certification Authorities.
- Click Next and then click Finish.
- In the Security Warning windows, click Yes to install the certificate.
- The Certificate Import wizard will notify you that "The import was successful."
- Click OK.
- Restart Internet Explorer.
Install the Certificate on Mac OS X (for the Safari browser, or all browsers)To manually install the Cisco Umbrella root certificate in your Safari browser (or all browsers) on Mac OS X, use the following procedure. You must be the computer administrator to perform this action.
- Download the Cisco Umbrella root certificate: download.
- Double-click the file or drag and drop it on top of the Keychain Access icon in the Applications | Utilities folder. The Add Certificate window appears.
- Click Always Trust.
- Double-click the Cisco Umbrella root certificate to open its properties window. Change the When using this certificate pull down to Always Trust.
Installing the Certificate on an iOS device
Installing an SSL Certificate (as a Trusted Root Certification Authority)
- Tap on the Download button. The device will show a message: "This website is trying to download a configuration profile. Do you want to allow this?"
- Tap Allow. The device will show another message: "Review the profile in Settings app if you want to install it."
- Tap Close.
Next Steps: Installing the Profile
- Open the Settings app.
- Underneath the User details for the device, tap Profile Downloaded.
- In the top right corner, tap Install.
- If the iOS device has a passcode set, the device will prompt you to enter it. Enter the passcode.
- A certificate warning will be displayed. Tap Install. If a second prompt is displayed, tap Install again.
- The Profile Installed screen is displayed. Tap Done.
Trusting the Certificate -Before the certificate can be used as intended, it must be trusted by the device.
- On the device, go to Settings > General > About > Certificate Trust Settings (at the bottom of the page). The installed Root Certificates will be displayed in a section entitled "Enable Full Trust for Root Certificates." There is a slide button next to each certificate.
- Tap the slide button next to the certificate you just installed. A confirmation dialogue will be displayed.
- Tap Continue.
