    SpartaFest is hosted by the Parents Association and is open to all. Join us for games, activities, and community fun, rain or shine! Skip the lines and register today. When you register, you can also pre-purchase all-you-can-bounce wristbands for kids ages 4-eighth grade, a pumpkin for $8 ($10 at the event), and pizza. 
     
    SpartaFest highlights include:
    • Sparty’s Closet, a collection of gently loved Steward gear. Choose what suits your Spartan; a donation of any amount is appreciated.
    • Car Show: We’ve got it all: fancy sports cars, BIG trucks, wraps, oldies but goodies … check out these rides in the bus parking lot!
    • Vendor Market: crafts, cool jewelry, and handmade items
    • Band and choir performances, a game truck, a rock climbing wall, a ride-on firetruck, hairspray fun, food and ice cream trucks, and more

    Volunteer at SpartaFest
    Lots of hands are needed to make this event successful. Volunteer today. There are lots of ways for parents, students, grandparents, and friends to get involved. We need bounce volunteers, chili cook-off entrants, and baked goods (homemade or store-bought).

    We invite you to join us to learn how Steward engages our students with robust academics in a caring community.

    This program features Head of School Dan Frank as well as a guided tour of campus. 

    The program will take place on October 16 at 9 a.m. In advance of the event, a member from the admissions team will be in touch with more information. 

    Pre-registration is required and is limited to two adults per family to maintain capacity limits (no students, please).

    Kindergarten Field Trip

    Virtual Parent Townhall

    All Steward parents are invited to join a virtual town hall on October 22 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. To join the meeting, click on this Zoom link. During the meeting, Steward leadership will present school updates, and parents will have the opportunity to ask questions. Parents are also invited to submit questions in advance of the meeting by emailing Heads.Qs@stewardschool.org.

    "The Wild Robot" Movie Afternoon

    The Steward community is invited to a free showing of “The Wild Robot” on October 23 in the Bryan Innovation Lab. Students and parents, come to the Bryan Lab at 3:20 p.m. to enjoy a themed activity, robots (!), snacks, and fun on the patio before the movie, which begins at 4 p.m. Thank you to our libraries, the Bryan Lab, and Nature Play School for collaborating on this fun, free event! Note: The movie is rated PG and is based on the book of the same name. Parents must attend with their children. More Details

    Grades 5-8 Author Visit

    Theatre
    Newbery Medal-winning author and former National Children’s Literature Ambassador Meg Medina will visit grades 5-8 on October 29 during community time. Ms. Medina, most known for her trilogy “Merci Suarez Changes Gears,” will chat with students about her background as a professional writer. Signed, personalized copies of her latest book, “Graciela in the Abyss,” are available for purchase from local bookstore bbgb. Order by October 15 to have your book(s) delivered to Steward!     LS/MS/US Halloween Attire

    On Friday, October 31, Lower School students are invited to wear Halloween-themed attire, such as Halloween shirts, headbands, etc. Lower School students are not permitted to wear costumes at school.


    On Friday, October 31, Middle School students are allowed to wear costumes (without masks) to school. Costumes and accessories (including anything related to weapons) that can be scary to younger students are not permitted. Students must be able to sit down and fully participate in class activities while in their costumes. No inflatable costumes, please.


    Upper Schoolers
    may dress up for Halloween on Friday, October 31. Students may not wear masks. Costumes and accessories (including anything related to weapons) that can be scary to younger students are not permitted. Students will vote on their favorite individual and group costumes, and winners will receive a coupon for ice cream in the Spartan Shop.

    College Financial Aid Program

    St. Christopher’s School is hosting a financial aid program for attendees of Richmond area independent schools and their families on October 27 at 7 p.m. Steward’s College Counseling team thinks this is an excellent opportunity. Dollars and Sense: College Sticker Shock, Financial Aid, and Scholarship will take place at St. Christopher’s Lower School Auditorium (699 Pepper Ave.) Register here. The presenter, Chris Gruber, is the vice president and dean of admission and financial aid at Davidson College and an expert in the field. He will present general information on need-based and merit-based aid and will answer questions.
