Graduation

The Forty-Seventh Commencement Ceremony honoring the class of 2023 will take place on Friday, May 27, 2022, at 10 a.m. Students should meet on Waddell Terrace by 9:45 a.m. for a class picture. 

Each student will have eight reserved seats in the multipurpose gym.  Please refer to this Senior family seating chart based on the seating lottery. Parking is strongly recommended prior to 9:40 a.m. Please see the Seniors page for more information about Graduation. 

Everyone is invited to join us here, virtually, to honor the class of 2023. The livestream will launch approximately 15 minutes before the ceremony.

    Graduation will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023 at 10 a.m. in the Multipurpose Gym.
     
    Class of 2023 Details:Seniors should meet on Waddell Terrace by 9:15 a.m. for pictures and flowers, and the event will begin livestreaming at 10:00 a.m.Graduation and Handicapped Parking/Seating NeedsReserved seating for EIGHT guests per graduate is determined by student lottery drawing. Families will be directed to their reserved seats upon arrival. There is additional overflow seating in the back. The event will also be livestreamed for those who cannot attend in person.Parents and guests should plan to arrive early, as parking is limited. The Upper School parking lot will be reserved for handicapped parking and senior students. Families and guests should park in the Lower School lot. We strongly recommend that parents and guests arrive no later than 9:40 a.m. to allow ample time to park and find your seats.Based on the seating lottery that took place in the fall, please see the Senior family seating chart here. Seating of guests will be stopped at 9:55 a.m., and the doors will be closed to allow for the senior processional. If you arrive after 9:55 a.m., you will need to wait until the processional has finished before you will be allowed into the gym.Handicapped Seating:Please contact Executive Assistant Maggie Boozer (margaret.boozer@stewardschool.org) if someone in your family will be attending in a wheelchair. It is very important that we know ahead of time in order to accommodate guests in wheelchairs due to fire code regulations on aisle seats.Senior Graduation Attire
    · Option A: A black tuxedo with a white shirt, black cummerbund, and black tie. Black formal shoes and black socks (no tennis shoes, flip-flops, or sandals). National Honor Society pins may be worn with your attire, if applicable.
    · Option B: An all-white dress or white pantsuit (neckline should be appropriate for the occasion). Dresses should be knee-length or longer (remember, you will be sitting on an elevated stage facing the audience!) White or neutral-colored dress shoes. Heels under 3 inches; sandals; or dressy white flip-flops are acceptable. Please practice walking in your shoes beforehand, including up and down stairs!

    Event Photography

    Douglas Hinckley '91, owner of Wendell Powell Studio, will be photographing Graduation. Photos will be available to purchase through the Wendell Powell Studio website following the event, and online order information will be sent to you at that time.
