Unparalleled Generosity

The Steward School
Blue and gold spirit everywhere you look
The Steward community’s generous spirit is like no other! Thanks to hardworking volunteers and big-hearted donors, students in all divisions benefit from enhanced opportunities inside and beyond the classroom.

“Each day as I walk through campus, I’m amazed at the connectedness that is the heart of Steward,” said Head of School Dan Frank. “This is more than a place; it’s where students explore and grow, teachers mentor and challenge, athletes practice and compete, and families make lasting memories. At its center, Steward is about the people who grace its campus, and I’m thankful every day to those who team up to make our school better than ever.”

Below is a sampling of recent gifts to Steward.

Let’s Play!
Nestled behind the Bryan Innovation Lab are new, oversized wooden play structures for Lower Schoolers, donated by our Parents Association. A giant food truck invites our youngest Spartans to “vroom-vroom” their way through imaginative play, and an A-framed building can become whatever students can dream up. Is it an ice-cream store? A schoolhouse? A spaceship? Yes … it’s all that and more!

The natural-wood structures were purchased with funds raised by Parents Association volunteers, a group of dedicated parents who work year-round, hosting events, organizing fundraisers (including the annual Gala and Auction), and coordinating parent education opportunities.

Middle School Fun
Steward is now sporting a brand-new Middle School playground, complete with an obstacle course, thanks to the hard work of the Parents Association’s 2025-26 fundraising efforts.

Middle Schoolers love having a fun place to gather, giggle, and romp — all of which contributes to students’ mental and physical wellness and helps them return to class refreshed and ready to learn.

Junior Commons
Thanks to the generosity of the Parents Association, the Junior Commons is decked out with snazzy new furniture. Cozy chairs and modern side tables offer students a comfortable gathering space to meet up with friends, do homework, or relax between classes.

Game On!
Game days at Steward are better than ever, thanks to a generous gift from our Spartan Club. These hardworking volunteers raise funds throughout the school year for items that enhance Steward athletics. Thanks to the Spartan Club’s 2025-26 fundraising efforts (including the Ray Tate Spartan Club Golf Tournament, memberships, and concession sales), the varsity gym now sports an interactive, 10-foot scorer’s table, complete with an LED screen.

“The table gives a shoutout to individual Spartan athletes, highlights sponsors with personalized messages, and adds extra-special blue-and-gold spirit to every game!” said Assistant Director of Athletics Kara Bacile.

Senior Class Gift
Thanks to the parents of the Class of 2026, the Lifer Terrace (outside the Athletic Center) is graced with six new tables and matching chairs. Together, parents raised an astonishing $19,000, and their generosity made it possible for students, summer campers, faculty, and staff to gather in a comfortable new seating area. More cause for celebration: The Class of 2026 was Steward’s 50th graduating class!

All gifts to Steward make a difference, said Director of Development Meredith Harris.

“It’s all about participation — not the size of any one gift,” she noted. “We are fortunate at Steward to have a community that is generous in so many ways. When parents, staff, faculty, alumni, grandparents, and friends of the school support our volunteer-run groups with donations and by attending events, together we make a tremendous difference in the Spartan experience.”
