    Parent Speaker Series Event

All Steward parents and parents in the greater Richmond community are invited to a Parent Speaker Series event on February 13 from 8-9 a.m. in the Bryan Innovation Lab. Please join us to hear a health-and-wellness parent talk by Angela Hanscom. Ms. Hanscom is a pediatric occupational therapist and founder of TimberNook, a research-backed, nature-based outdoor play program for children. She is the author of “Balanced & Barefoot: How Unrestricted Outdoor Play Makes for Strong, Confident, and Capable Children.” Steward parents and parents in the greater Richmond community are invited to register here by February 6. Registration is limited to 80 guests.

Ms. Hanscom, whose work is evidence-based, is a sought-after keynote speaker and workshop leader for parents, educators, and clinicians worldwide. She will speak to parents about the importance of outdoor play and offer practical ways families can support unstructured play at home. Following her talk, Ms. Hanscom will meet with Lower Schoolers in Steward’s Nature Play space. She will also lead an afternoon professional development workshop for Steward faculty and local educators.
