An overview of our approach to reopening campus in the fall.
Dear Steward community,
As we do every summer, my fellow administrators and I are spending a considerable amount of time planning for the next school year. The conversations this year are, of course, different than ever before. There is much to consider. While it’s easy to agree that our students’ needs for learning and connection are paramount, it’s more complex to consider exactly how we accomplish that.
Ideally, we’d like to be back together this fall in as “normal” of a way as possible, and we’re leaving no stone unturned in trying to accomplish that. While I don’t have easy answers to share today, I can assure you that committees are working tirelessly to consider every detail from health and hygiene to academics and finances, both in context of government guidance and our own knowledge of our community. We are fortunate in so many ways at Steward, not the least of which is that, as an independent school with small class sizes, we have a bit of flexibility.
On a personal note, I must say how much I look forward to seeing our children and faculty on the colonnade again. Campus is much too quiet. It will be a great joy to fill these halls and fields with the sounds of students’ learning, laughter, and connection again.
